AS 100 - Milestones In Aviation History:
Aerospace Science 100: Milestones in Aviation History is a course that covers the development of flight throughout the centuries. It all starts with an examination of ancient civilizations and flight, then progresses through time to future developments in aerospace, with an introduction into cyber technologies. Our intent is to bring alive the significant discoveries and inventions that have made flight possible for today and beyond. We will also focus on the people who helped make these discoveries in flight a reality. This book tells the stories of why we are so proud of our Air Force heritage—laying the foundation for future Air Force JROTC aerospace science courses. The mission of AFJROTC is to “develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community”; our goal with Milestones in Aviation History is to stimulate an interest in aerospace technology. Additionally, the AFJROTC program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.
Chapter 1: Exploring Flight Chapter 4: Commercial and Early Aviation Take Off
Chapter 2: Developing Flight Chapter 5: The U.S. Air Force is Born
